:-)
Few things I want to randomly comment on:
This is ridiculous:
The city of Batman, Turkey is suing Christopher Nolan and Warner Brothers Studio claiming that the unauthorized use of their cities name has caused "several unsolved murders and a high female suicide rate, based on the psychological impact that the film’s success has had on the city’s inhabitants"
Really?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27669362/
Also, want to say we had a very exciting election! What a great time to be an American (not that it wasn't before)! I just wish I could have been in the city that night for Obama's speech. I am a bit upset with how things turned out with prop 8, but the fight for equality is not over yet! I DO NOT agree with how some people are handling the loss by being horrible to others. That is not the point of this. Doing things like spray painting churches and spewing hateful things is not the way to gain respect for the cause.
And that is as far as political discussion will go because I do not enjoy discussing them....
Thanksgiving is right around the corner! I can't wait for my Grandparents to come out and visit! Chris will be heading home for Thanksgiving to visit his family. He hasn't seen his mom since January so he is VERY excited! I wish I could go with but it is just SO darn expensive to fly around the holidays. I am still paying off the trip from August and I don't think getting further in debt is a great idea right now.
On that note...I am so poor its not even funny :-( I mean I can pay all the bills but there is not much extra there for the fun stuff.
I am so tired today! I went and saw a really good concert last night! I was a lot of fun. I saw Ludo...if you don't know them look it up...The Graduate opened for them and they are pretty awesome as well (and they are from good old Illinois).
Anyway that's it for now! If i don't blog before Thanksgiving...Have a Happy one!

To many...
I watched way to many wedding/bridal shows this weekend and they made me think..
I have this outstanding fear that NO ONE is going to be happy for me when I get married. I see all the shows where people scream and yell with excitement when couples announce their engagement....
I don't see that happening for me...
and you know what? That terrifies me....
I'm also in a weird mood lately...so I guess that doesn't help

It's always easier to leave than be left
DMB sax player dies at 46 from ATV wreck injuries
08/20/2008 4:42 AM, AP
LeRoi Moore, the versatile saxophonist whose signature staccato fused jazz and funk overtones onto the eclectic sound of the Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday of complications from injuries he suffered in an all-terrain vehicle accident, the band said. He was 46.
Moore died at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was admitted with complications that arose weeks after the June 30 wreck, according to a statement on the band's Web site. It did not specify what led to his death, and nursing supervisor Galina Shinder said the hospital could not release details.
On June 30, Moore crashed his ATV on his farm outside Charlottesville, Va., but was discharged and returned to his Los Angeles home to begin physical therapy. Complications forced him back to the hospital on July 17, the band said.
The band went on with its show Tuesday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where lead singer Dave Matthews dedicated the entire show to Moore.
"It's always easier to leave than be left," Matthews told the crowd, according to Ambrosia Healy, the band's publicist. "We appreciate you all being here."
Saxophonist Jeff Coffin, who played with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, had been sitting in for Moore during the band's summer tour.
Moore, who wore dark sunglasses at the bands' many live concerts, had classical training but said jazz was his main musical influence, according to a biography on the band's Web site.
"But at this stage I don't really consider myself a jazz musician," Moore said in the biography. Playing with the Dave Matthews Band was "almost better than a jazz gig," he said. "I have plenty of space to improvise, to try new ideas."
Lead singer Dave Matthews credited Moore with arranging many of his songs, which combine Cajun fiddle-playing, African-influenced rhythms and Matthews' playful but haunting voice.
The band formed in 1991 in Charlottesville, Va., when Matthews was working as a bartender. He gave a demo tape of his songs to Moore, who liked what he heard and recruited his friend and fellow jazzman Carter Beauford to play drums, and other musicians.
The group broke out of the local music scene with the album "Under the Table and Dreaming." The band won a Grammy Award in 1997 for its hit song "So Much to Say" off its second album "Crash." Other hits include "What Would You Say," "Crash Into Me" and "Satellite."
Fans who attended Tuesday's concert expressed sadness over Moore's death and concern about the band's future without him. "LeRoi was just super important to the band," Shawn Harrington said before the concert. "That's how the band came to be."
-------------
Those who know me, know I am a HUGE DMB fan. As a matter of fact I am seeing them in concert Monday night! I was really hoping LeRoi would make a full recovery....
He was an absolutly amazing musician

Well Vegas was a lot of fun! I came home UP $20. Thats unusual...I even stayed up till 5 in the morning playing blackjack! It was more fun then I ever thought it could be! We also got and oppertunity to take a trip to the Hoover Dam which was just amazing! Here are a few pictures of the fun!
I checked out this website that my cousin Maggie was looking at that checks the walkability of your neighborhood (www.walkscore.com) I was amazed to see how much is around me. I knew lots of things were close, but I had no Idea that there was THAT much around me! My neighborhood score a 92/100

I aboslutly love my new car. I got an 08 Escape and it is awesome. So I am spending a lot more on gas, but it is so worth it to have the room!
I can't wait to take it up into the mountains.
ANYWAY-
Nothing else is really going on. I've REALLY been missing my friends lately. Its so hard not to have anyone here to hang with. I guess I am not as sociable as I used to be. Its just so much harder for me to put myself out there and meet new people. I sont know...Ill figure it out eventually.

Burns
So....Chris and I had an amazing skiing trip to Tahoe (actually Truckee but close enough) last weekend. I had an absolute BLAST!
Unfortunatly I Ended up with 2nd degree burns on my face. My lips were So swollen that it looked like I had collegen injections. I have blisters and peeling....the whole 9 yards... (ill spare you the pictures) No fun. I am just PRAYING that the dicoloration of my skin goes aways before the wedding. But I guess thats what they made makeup for. Ill just peel away until then....
In other news I got an AWESOME bonus at work...going to make things a bit easier ...umm thats about all for now! Nothing to exciting.

EEP!
So...I forgot my password for a bit...opps...i figured it out though so...im back!
Let see....so lots of new stuff happening
Chris got into a car accident on Friday in his car he JUST had shipped out here. Luckily he is OK and the car didn't suffer to much damage...its still drivable. I am so happy that he is ok! Some guy come over in his lane and didn't even look...almost hit him...but Chris swerved to avoid him and ended up hitting the wall in the median. YIKES!
Chris also took his test for the Fairfield police department on Saturday. He is so excited to possibly start this new chapter in his life! If he gets selected he goes back for an interview sometime in march. Then from there, he could be selected to go to the Napa police academy in July. Fingers crossed everyone!
We are still apartment hunting...but if this whole police academy thing goes through then I think we might wait till after he is done to move. We will see how the next month or so plays out. We did buy furniture this weekend. I like it a lot. Its not new (gotta love craigslist.com) but its in great shape and we got a whole living room set for a great price!
Wow this turned into an update on Chris! hehe...I think its because my update would have gone something like this....."nothing new."
How boring...wait I remembered a few things...

I am super excited about going to IL at the end of March. I am pretty nervous, however, about putting on a bachelorette party for Maggie. I'm so scared that no one is going to have a good time. Hopefully everything goes ok. Maggie and Justin's wedding will be fun and thats all that matters...
Well, going to go lounge around on this rainy day.
Later

Missing
I've totally been missing everyone lately. It really sucks when all of your friend and family are 2000 miles away. I miss just hanging out and seeing everyone. I miss being there for the birthdays and holidays.
It sucks that i don't have the money to fly back all the time. It also sucks that none of my friends have the money to come here.
I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad but sometimes it feels like people don't wanna come out here. It is pretty expensive...
But I guess in the long run its my fault from moving across country. I just need to get out and make some more friends. I don';t know what it is, but sometimes I feel like I won't ever be able to replace my friends at home. I miss the good ol' days. I miss doing stuff every night...I miss everyone
But if anyone ever wants to come here.....do it...ill try to be a good tour guide! I just need to get out more....

Humpday
Giant win the superbowl! Yes I was rooting for the Giants (well technically I was rooting for the bears...but we know how that turned out...:-( I wore my jersey and everything) because I had said from the beginning that it would be HILARIOUS if the pats went undefeated in the season and the chocked in the big game. Your undefeated season doesn't mean anything if you cant pull it together in the big game...
Besides that nothing is happening....just chilling...working
Well Im off to bowling!
